INTRODUCING THE ANTI-CHRISTMAS CARD COLLECTION

Because Not Everyone Loves The Holiday Hustle

For some, Christmas is a magical time filled with joy, laughter, and festive lights. But for others, the holiday season can feel like a never-ending whirlwind of stress, anxiety, and obligation. Whether it’s the pressure to be merry, the overwhelming social calendar, or just the feeling of “let's get this over with already,” not everyone feels like decking the halls with glee.

Some feel like decking people who get on their nerves. I know I do sometimes ;)

Here at Text From A Friend, I get it. My brand has always been about mixing luxury with laughter and cheek, and sometimes that means embracing the not-so-jolly side of life.

I know how I feel at this time of year and I'm not the only one. We're missing loved ones and some find grief a little bit harder to deal with. It's nice to remind someone that they're not alone and then don't have to put a face on.

That’s why I'm chuffed to introduce our new Anti-Christmas Collection – a series of hand-foiled cards designed for those who struggle with the festive season and need a little solidarity, humour, and a reminder that it's okay to not feel all the Christmas cheer.

A Christmas Collection for the "Oh No" Crowd

This collection is all about capturing the real life emotions some of us experience during the holiday season – the anxiety, the exhaustion, the loss, and the craving for it all to just end already. Printed as ever in our shiny rose gold foil and written in our signature cheeky style, these cards offer a blend of empathy and humour, showing that sometimes, the best way to connect with someone during the holidays is to let them know you truly understand.

It doesn't take much and if you're at a loss of what to say, it's easier to send one of our cards. They say it for you.

The Cards

Each card in the Anti-Christmas Card Collection brings a unique, relatable message. I'm sure you can think of a few people who'd love to receive these in the post.

"I'm Dreaming of an Anxiety Free Christmas"
This card speaks directly to those who wish for peace and quiet more than presents. It’s a honest way to tell someone you understand that the holidays can be more about survival than celebration. And we're all for that.

"Dear Santa, I Want To Be Where The People Aren't"
For the introverts who would rather hide away than face a room full of partygoers, this card offers a cheeky nod to that craving for solitude. It’s the perfect card for someone who’d take a silent night over a loud one any day.

If you're counting down to the end of the festive season, this card is for you. Sometimes, January just doesn’t cut it (it also feels like it lasts a year) – and you’re ready for life to resume in February, and that’s totally okay. Send this to someone who's just holding on for dear life until the new year.

"Sending This Is A Christmas Miracle"
We all have that friend who barely manages to send holiday cards (or maybe that friend is you). Hands up - it's me! This card gives a knowing wink to the effort it takes to send any kind of festive greetings – an achievement worth celebrating in itself!

"It's Ok Not To Be Merry and Bright"
Sometimes, the holidays can feel more like a burden than a joy. This card gently reminds its recipient that they don’t need to put on a festive face for anyone – it’s perfectly fine to just be themselves, no matter how they’re feeling. (I can totally relate to this as I sigh typing this blog...)

"Ho Ho Oh No"
When the thought of a jolly Christmas is just too much to bear, this card sums it all up. It’s a fun way to acknowledge the holiday fatigue you're facing and bring a little laughter to those who are struggling with all the “Ho Ho Ho” shit.

"I Fucking Hate Christmas"
Sometimes, there’s just no sugarcoating it. This card is for the person who’d trade tinsel for silence and a festive-free escape. This card says what many are thinking (go admit it), bringing a laugh to those who’d rather skip the season entirely. It’s the ultimate way to send someone a little festive rebellion.

    Why Anti-Christmas?

The Anti-Christmas Collection is more than just a series of funny cards – it’s a reminder that not everyone experiences the holidays in the same way. Life doesn’t magically get easier in December, and for many, it can be the hardest time of the year. Our cards offer a way to connect with those who need something more than the typical “Merry Christmas” sentiment.

I find all of that stuff a bit boring and lacking human connection. It's not the best time of year for me and I personally can't wait until February.

Whether it’s a friend who struggles with seasonal anxiety, a loved one who’s worn out by social obligations, or even yourself (because yes, self-care is important!), these cards are here to spread a different kind of message – one that says, “I see you, I get it, and it’s okay.”

Hand Printed in Our Glasgow Studio

As always, every card in our collection is meticulously crafted on posh paper, hand-pressed with beautiful rose gold foil, and features my signature handwriting. We believe that even the cheekiest, most irreverent messages deserve the finest quality, because making someone laugh (or feel understood) is a luxury in itself.

Especially in this mad, mad world.
